FOR THE TRIAD

thirty days of prayer

When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting.

Acts 2:1-2

We’re dedicating 30 days this summer to specifically focus on the Triad – the area we call home. To signify the power of Acts 2:1, we’re asking you to pause your day at 2:10pm for just a moment of prayer. We’ll provide you with a specific topic to pray about – so we’ll all be praying together at one time, all across the Triad.

To make it easier, you can join our text list and receive a text reminder each afternoon.

DAILY TOPICS

day 1 | May 30

Pray for a great move of God. An estimated 6% of Americans have a truly biblical worldview. Many Christians don’t know how to carefully look at life through a biblical lens.

day 2 | May 31

Pray for a spiritual awakening in the Triad. In the United States, 41% of the population believes the Bible, the Quran, and the Book of Mormon all express the same divine truths.

DAY 3 | june 1

Pray for spiritual clarity. Among Americans who claim to embrace a biblical worldview, many also believe reincarnation is possible — and that Jesus is not the only way to salvation.

DAY 4 | june 2

Pray for Millennials in the Triad (people ages 24-40). Although a majority identify as Christians, only 2% hold a biblical worldview.

DAY 5 | june 3

Pray for Gen Z in the Triad (people ages 9-24). Among American teenagers, 40% claim no religious affiliation.

day 6 | june 4

Pray for healing from emotional and mental distress. Recent statistic show steeply rising levels of depression, anxiety, and other very serious mental health problems.

DAY 7 | june 5

Pray for stability among children in the Triad. Emergency room visits for mental health crisis among teens increased 31% during the pandemic. May Jesus – the Author of Life – protect that which the enemy is seeking to destroy.

day 8 | june 6

Pray for an increase of courage and peace rooted in Jesus. “My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.” (Psalm 73:26 NIV)

day 9 | june 7

Pray for hope. As the pandemic and related difficulties continue, many are hopeless, searching, and in need of the anchoring love of Jesus.

day 10 | june 8

Pray for victory over life-controlling addictions. Over the course of the past few years, overdose cases have increased dramatically. Pray for the efforts of organizations like Teen & Adult Challenge and our Living Free small groups.

day 11 | june 9

Pray for leaders and those in authority — that they will know Christ and make decisions based on His leading.

day 12 | june 10

Pray for unity in the Triad. A Survey of people in 17 nations found Americans were the most likely to report their country was split among partisan and racial lines.

day 13 | june 11

Pray for the imprisoned, of which each one is in urgent need of Jesus. Currently 2 million people are incarcerated in the US.

day 14 | june 12

Pray for the marginalized people of the Triad, for whom Jesus cares deeply. The pandemic brought to light many racial and economic disparities. May the Holy Spirit help the Church lead the way in grace-filled reconciliation.

day 15 | june 13

Pray for pastors, missionaries, and other church leaders, staff, workers, and volunteers. May they be sustained as they help unite and restore communities.

day 16 | june 14

Pray for repentance. Injustice, idolatry, and divisiveness do not honor God. Pray for repentance and turning away from sin throughout the Triad.

day 17 | june 15

Pray for healing. Wounds caused by broken and sinful behavior can be healed by the Holy Spirit’s intervention.

day 18 | june 16

Pray for the Triad’s churches. The local church is the backbone of healthy community and provides a place for prayer and action.

day 19 | june 17

Pray for the Triad’s businesses. Let the Triad be known as a place of prosperity for entrepreneurs, business owners, and workers. Let the result be generosity that flows through the region.

day 20 | june 18

Pray for rural communities in the Triad like King, Walkertown, and Denton. Healthy, growing churches are as needed in rural communities as in urban centers.

day 21 | june 19

Pray for families in the Triad. Let homes be places of peace, health, and physical and spiritual growth.

day 22 | june 20

Pray for women in the Triad. Amid many challenges and in may different situations, may each woman find restoration, courage, and strength in Jesus.

day 23 | june 21

Pray for men in the Triad. May each man be convicted to live every facet of life in ways honoring to Christ and others.

day 24 | june 22

Pray for children in the Triad and the ministry of GLOWkids. Children have suffered with family stresses during the pandemic as well as social isolation and educational disruptions. Pray for each child to be protected, and to come to know Jesus while they are young.

day 25 | june 23

Pray for  students in the Triad. Our nation’s campuses are strategic mission fields. Pray for students who will faithfully live biblical truths and boldly share the love of Christ. Pray specifically for VIVID Youth, Chi Alpha, and Youth for Christ and their leaders.

day 26 | june 24

Pray for intercultural relationship and outreach. Our region is called home by many diverse people groups who speak hundreds of languages and come from varied backgrounds.

day 27 | june 25

Pray for righteousness of thought and action throughout the Triad. “Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is reproach to any people.” (Proverbs 14:34)

day 28 | june 26

Pray for our needy neighbors. Soaring costs have hit hard in the Triad – an area already struggling with food and housing insecurity.

day 29 | june 27

Pray for the triad to acknowledge God. We cannot hope to be blessed as a people without honoring God.

day 30 | june 28

Pray for God to bless America — and for the protection of religious freedom in boldly proclaiming the Gospel. As “One Nation, Under God” we need the Lord’s guidance and blessing.
