Pastor Jason Goins dreamed of planting a church that would help people to know God and experience life change.
With the help of 15 people committed to seeing this dream become a reality, Renaissance began on September 14, 2008 as a mobile church, meeting every week in the high school auditorium of Southwest Guilford High School in north High Point.
From the beginning, we focused on reaching out to the non-churched community by doing two simple things: building relationships through Groups and having a dynamic, real, and fun weekend worship experience.
Today, our action plan to accomplish its mission of life change is to see seven locations of food-distributing churches, 200 Groups meeting throughout the Triad, and 10,000 people fed each week by the Renaissance Food Bank.
We invite you to see for yourself how exciting church can be when the focus is simple and people are free to go after God with passion!
Renaissance Church was founded in High Point in 2008 by lead pastor Jason Goins. From the beginning, community outreach and assisting those in need has been a priority for the church, which operated a weekly food bank starting in 2010. In 2015, the church moved to Jamestown, but its commitment to serving the community remains strong. The church is passionate about sharing the love of God with those around them, and its weekly food pantry is just one way it does that. Beginning in 2021, Renaissance Church launched CityServe Triad, a partner with CityServe – an international organization that empowers local churches to serve their communities with free clothing, home goods and more. CityServe Triad serves as a hub to service churches across the region.
