All together now—applause for God! Sing songs to the tune of his glory, set glory to the rhythms of his praise.
Say of God, “We’ve never seen anything like him!” When your enemies see you in action, they slink off like scolded dogs.
The whole earth falls to its knees— it worships you, sings to you, can’t stop enjoying your name and fame. SO WILL I.
Take a good look at God’s wonders— they’ll take your breath away. He converted sea to dry land; travelers crossed the river on foot. Now isn’t that cause for a song?
Ever sovereign in his high tower, he keeps his eye on the godless nations. Rebels don’t dare raise a finger against him.
Bless our God, O peoples! GIVE GOD a thunderous welcome! Didn’t he set us on the road to life? Didn’t he keep us out of the ditch?
He trained us first, REFINED US like silver through the fires,
Brought us into hardscrabble country, pushed us to our very limit,
Road-tested us inside and out, took us to hell and back;
Finally he brought us to this well-watered place.
Psalm 66:1-12
All Scripture is GOD BREATHED and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness.
-2 Timothy 3:16 NLT
Josiah was eight years old when he became king (because you’re never too young to start making a difference and you’re never too old either), and [Josiah] reigned in Jerusalem thirty-one years…
He did what was pleasing IN THE LORD’S SIGHT and followed the example of his ancestor David. He DID NOT TURN AWAY from doing what was right.
-2 Kings 22:1,2 NLT
Hilkiah the high priest said to Shaphan the court secretary, “I have found the Book of the Law in the Lord’s Temple!”
-2 Kings 22:8 NLT
Then [King Josiah] ordered Hilkiah the high priest, his associate priest, and The Temple sentries to CLEAN HOUSE – TO GET RID OF EVERYTHING in The Temple of God that had been made for worshiping Baal and Asherah and the cosmic powers. He fired the pagan priests whom the kings of Judah had hired to supervise the local sex-and-religion shrines …
He took the obscene phallic Asherah pole from The Temple of God to the Valley of Kidron outside Jerusalem, BURNED it up, then GROUND it up the ashes and SCATTERED them in the cemetery.
-2 Kings 23:4-5,6 MSG
Renaissance Church was founded in High Point in 2008 by lead pastor Jason Goins. From the beginning, community outreach and assisting those in need has been a priority for the church, which operated a weekly food bank starting in 2010. In 2015, the church moved to Jamestown, but its commitment to serving the community remains strong. The church is passionate about sharing the love of God with those around them, and its weekly food pantry is just one way it does that. Beginning in 2021, Renaissance Church launched CityServe Triad, a partner with CityServe – an international organization that empowers local churches to serve their communities with free clothing, home goods and more. CityServe Triad serves as a hub to service churches across the region.
We’d love to have you join us this Sunday at our Jamestown campus. Visit our Plan a Visit page to find out more about what you can expect on your first visit. You can even RSVP for a personal tour and pre-register your children for GLOWkids!
