Less than a week after a merger with Hope Church, Renaissance Church in Jamestown is once again reaching out to other area churches to come together to benefit the underprivileged residents of the Triad.
On Saturday, Jan 15, Renaissance Church will host representatives from 50 churches throughout the Triad to establish a network that will distribute free food and household items to those in need. Pastor Paula Bost, Renaissance Church’s executive director will oversee the operations of this new association.
According to Bost, “We’re very excited about bringing together all sorts of churches from the area with a common goal and vision of showing love to our neighbors.”
Under this plan, Renaissance Church will serve as a warehouse hub where associated churches – called pods – can come to receive food and household items to take back to their churches and distribute to their community. Each member church will be encouraged to distribute items as they see fit.
The distribution hub will use local food donations as well as household goods provided by CityServe, a national network that provides bulk goods from Amazon, Costco, Walmart and other sources with the intention of empowering local churches to serve their communities.
At launch, churches will come to gather items from a small warehouse that is part of the Renaissance Church building on Harvey Road in Jamestown, but it is the goal of Bost and other organizers to find a larger warehouse off-site as soon as possible. Bost is reaching out to owners of vacant retail and warehouse spaces in the area to donate space. Anyone interested in donating space can reach out to Pastor Paula Bost at PaulaBost@RENtriad.church

Renaissance Church was founded in High Point in 2008 by lead pastor Jason Goins. From the beginning, community outreach and assisting those in need has been a priority for the church, which operated a weekly food bank starting in 2010. In 2015, the church moved to Jamestown, but its commitment to serving the community remains strong. The church is passionate about sharing the love of God with those around them, and its weekly food pantry is just one way it does that. Beginning in 2021, Renaissance Church launched CityServe Triad, a partner with CityServe – an international organization that empowers local churches to serve their communities with free clothing, home goods and more. CityServe Triad serves as a hub to service churches across the region.
Renaissance Church meets Sunday mornings at 9:30 and 11:15am at 5114 Harvey Road in Jamestown where everyone is welcome to encounter God in a relaxed, safe, and genuine worship experience.
